Taking Care of Your Ring

All of our rings are typically made with resilient materials that hold up well to wear and tear but its important to know what can cause premature wear and damage so you know how to avoid it.

Rings made with inlays or wood

Rings made with inlays or wood undergo the same process for securing and sealing them. A jewelry grade CA glue is used to hold our inlays in place and to form a protective clear coat over our rings made with wood. While the bond of our CA finishes are extremely strong and durable, it's important to know what can cause them to easily strip off.

What you're safe to do

Rings that are finished with a CA coating are able to withstand short periods of water exposure. Washing your hands or dipping your hands in water is totally safe as long as you dry them off shortly after.

What you should avoid

Extended exposure in water can weaken the bond which is why swimming and showering with your ring is not recommended. Although strong and waterproof, a CA coating can easily be stripped away in contact with the wrong chemicals. Avoid any contact with Nail polish removerAcetone, sanitizers, or any other harsh chemicals including cleaning agents.

How to clean

We recommend using a microfiber cloth or a soft towel to wipe away any smears or debri. You can use your cloth wet or dry.

Titanium Rings

The properties of titanium is what makes it a desirable option. Being hypoallergenic, scratch resistant, and impervious to corrosion is what makes titanium great for someone who's looking for a care free ring.

What you're safe to do

Rings made with titanium alloys can be safely worn while washing your hands, applying lotion, and using sanitizers. Although not recommended, swimming in any kind of water or showering will not affect your ring in any sort of harmful way.

What you should avoid

All you need to worry about is potentially scratching your ring. Its best practice to remove your ring when interacting with hard or rough surfaces. Being mindful is the best way to maintain the initial condition of your ring.

How to clean

Cleaning your ring is as simple as using dish soap, warm water, and a microfiber cloth or towel. A good method for restoring shine is wiping or soaking your ring in windex.

Stainless Steel Damascus and Stainless Steel Rings

Like titanium, stainless steel alloys are commonly known for their corrosion resistance and strength. Stainless steel alloys are superior to titanium when it comes to scratch resistance and will do a better job retaining a surface finish. All of our damascus rings are a made with a blend of stainless steel alloys.

What you're safe to do

Rings made with stainless alloys can be safely worn while washing your hands, applying lotion, and using sanitizers. Although not recommended, swimming in freshwater and showering will not cause any harm to the ring.

What you should avoid

Stainless steel and stainless steel damascus rings don't require much precaution to maintain their finish. Avoid Chlorinated water and harsh chemicals like bleach. Contact with these elements are not detrimental but can cause corrosion to begin with prolonged exposure.

How to clean

Use a microfiber cloth or a soft towel with some warm water and dish soap to clean your ring. If dirt is trapped between the layers of damascus and can't be removed with soap and water, you can use a fine grit jewelry or car polish to wipe it away.
